This Avalanche Level 1 is teaches students foundational knowledge about avalanche terrain and snowpack assessment in order to make better decisions while traveling in snow-covered mountains. The course takes place in the Wasatch Range outside of Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah. Each student receives a Certificate of Completion. The course is conveniently scheduled for two field days combined with two online instruction sessions with flexible scheduling to make it easy to commit to training on a weekend.
